Good Luck,

Disclosure: This post  is a product review for the Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer System.  I recently received the system for free  as a

Bzz Agent to try it out and review the results. These opinions are solely my opinions based on my experience using this sprayer

system versus the normal sprayer system I normally use for my annual planting.

I was a little slow at reviewing this product, as the weather in my area has been crazy. I can have all 4 seasons in the same week. No joke! With later than average days of frost, my annual planting was delayed. I was excited to try the new Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer System because there is no measuring fertilizer! It has easy to use drop in tablets.

Now that I have gotten all my flowers planted, I have been using this new Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer.
I like that is uses half the water to feed my flowers, thus saving me money and preserving the water supply.
I also like that the fertilizer is pre-measured in easy to use tablets so there is no messy measuring of fertilizer. I open the sprayer and drop in a tablet. The water swirls around the chamber, dissolving the tablet to add fertilizer to the water as it sprays.
After just the first day, the flowers already seemed to perk up and have continued to get fuller.

The only negative that I see with this system, is that the tablets seem to dissolve rather quickly. I water my flowers nightly and it has been using one complete tablet a day. The replacement tablets are sold in 4 packs so this could get expensive to use daily.
My solution is to use the Pennington Sprayer every 3-4 days with regular watering in between. This seems to work well for me. My flowers are bright, full and healthy.
My overall conclusion is that I do like and recommend the Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer better than the competitor’s similar sprayers.

This is my design for a reusable shopping bag. In light of recent attacks on our American people, I felt this would be a nice design to increase awareness and support. Please stop by the Kroger website here and vote for this design daily until May 13,2013. Please help make this a new Kroger Reusable Shopping Bag. I would love to have this bag to carry.

You may have to search by name…Kathy D. to find it quicker.

You can make you own laundry detergent to save money as well as save the Earth. Not only will you not be wasting all those plastic bottles but by using homemade cleaning products you will be helping keep harmful chemicals, which can lead to water contamination and health issues, away from the environment!!

You can either store this in a 5 gallon bucket with lid or re-use any type of bottles, milk jugs, mason jars or even large coffee containers.

Here is what You will need for homemade Laundry Detergent:

– 1 box of Arm & Hammer washing soda

– 1 Any Bar Soap that you normally use for showers

– 1 Box of Borax

– A five gallon bucket with a lid

– Three gallons of tap water

– A big spoon to stir the mixture with

-A measuring cup

Step 1~ Put 4 Cups of Water into a Pan, with your bar of soap, turn the heat to high and stir as it melts. You will see it turning the water to whatever color your bar of soap is. Let the whole bar of soap melt down and then your going to turn off the heat. You will have a pan full of soapy water.

Step 2~ I put in 3 gallons of Hot Water into my 5 Gallon Bucket. Then I pour in my Hot Soap Water from my pan. I then measure out 1 Cup of Washing Soda and mix it in the bucket with the soapy water till it dissolves. I then add 1/2 Cup of Borax and mix it up again till it dissolves. When this is done and it has all dissolved I put the lid on the soap and let it sit for 24 hours to set.

Then use 1 cup of the laundry soap per load to wash the clothes. If you have a tough stain, take a little and rub it in before the stain sets so that it will get the stain out.

Around my house, this will last about 3 months before a new batch is needed.

If you want to go a step further, you can also make your own fabric softener.

What you will need to make Fabric Softener:

-1 gallon bucket with lid

-1 cup baking soda

-6 cups white vinegar

-Essential oil of your preferred fragrance

-A measuring cup

-A big spoon to stir the mixture with

~Step 1- Pour 1 cup of water into your bucket followed by 1 cup of baking soda. Add 6 cups of white vinegar slowly to the bucket. The mixture will bubble up. Let the mixture bubble and fizz as you add the full amount of vinegar.

~Step 2-Add 6 cups of water after a few minutes to stop the bubbling. Stir everything well to thoroughly mix the solution.

~Step 3- Add 10 to 20 drops of your preferred essential oil to add a fragrance to your softener. More oil will make a stronger scent. Stir to mix the oil in. Store the bucket with the lid on or reuse any type of container as above. Use 1 cup of the fabric softener per load, just as you would any commercial fabric softener.

Now you can feel good about helping the environment as well as your wallet!
